PADA 43 - Pada Studios Residency, Barreiro, Portugal : GROUP

24 February 2024

Founded in 2018, PADA is an artist-led, non-profit arts organization situated in the historic Companhia União Fabril (CUF) industrial park in Barreiro, Lisbon’s South Bay. PADA provides a unique environment for artists to develop their practice, engage with fellow creatives, and explore new approaches within a post-industrial landscape.

The Residency Programme operates in conjunction with PADA's Studio & Gallery Programmes, encouraging dynamic interaction between local and international artists. Artists-in-Residence benefit from opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, inspired by the industrial setting and the creative community around them.

PADA prioritizes engagement with the local community through projects and artistic interventions that promote sustainability. The organization supports practices that align with these values, fostering thoughtful and impactful artistic work.

Since its inception, PADA has hosted over 300 artists from more than 30 countries. Alongside the Studio & Gallery Programmes, PADA has organized more than 50 exhibitions. At the conclusion of each residency period, an exhibition is held to showcase the work of the Artists-in-Residence. PADA 43 was the end-of-residency exhibition for artists in residence during February 2024.
